چکیده

The aim of the study is identification bivoltine breeds suitable for regional abiotic stress conditions to achieve successful cocoon production.
Study Design: In this regard present has been taken up with ten accessions (4 oval and 6 dumbbell) linked thermo tolerance SSR markers evaluated under different agroclimatic namely, (a) high temperature low humidity; (b) moderate humidity (c) humidity.
Place Duration Study: 2 years , where trials were conducted at CSR & TI, Berhampore (West Bengal), RSRS, Jammu (J&K) REC, Chitradurga (Karnataka).
Methodology: shortlisted (oval showing hotspots collected reared locations data collection analysis rearing parameters viz. larval wt.(g), ERR/No., (survival) ERR/wt (kg), pupation rate (%), single weight (g), shell (g),shell ratio (%) along control CSR2 (oval) CSR4 (dumbbell).
Results: Among accessions, performance BBI-0086 [KPG-A], BBI-0339[DD-2], BBE-0184[SMGS-2] BBI-0338[DD-1], BBI-0336[APS-8] found be stable in all respectively.
Conclusion: elucidate impact associated over economic traits performances selected accessions. findings provide a platform future crop improvement through breeding program.

An analysis of genetic variation and divergence in Indian tropical polyvoltine silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) genotypes

The genetic variation and diversity among fifty-eight polyvoltine silkworm genotypes was estimated by using ten economic traits. The results revealed that the single shell weight showed higher genetic variation such as PCV% (17.20%), GCV% (12.93%), and heritability (56.5%) followed by single cocoon weight, shell ratio and matured larval weight. The D2 (Mahalonobis? distance) statistics reveal...

Effect of Rearing Temperature and Humidity on Fecundity and Fertility of Silkworm, Bombyx mori L. (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae)

The effect of temperature and humidity fluctuations on fecundity and fertility of the silkworm lines was investigated during autumn and spring by exposing 4 and 5 instar larvae of eleven inbred silkworm lines ( M101, M-103, M-104, M-107, Pak-1, Pak-2, Pak-3, Pak-4, PFI-1, PFI-2 and S-1) to 25±1°C, 30±1°C and 35±1°C in combination with 55, 65 and 75% relative humidity (RH) for 3hr daily. Tempera...

Studies on Biology of a New Strain (k2) of Silkworm (bombyx Mori L.) under Different Sets of Temperature and Humidity

Silkworm rearing is an applied science based on theory of anatomical physiology of silkworm and silk worm diseases. With an ultimate aim of producing more and better quantity and quality of silk (a natural protein fiber) and to expand the areas for its production country wise regions, many strains have been introduced date to date. A new strain of silkworm (K2) was evaluated to include it in th...

Characterization of Klebsiella granulomatis pathogenic to silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

Bacterial disease of silkworm causes significant reduction of silk production leading to huge economic loss. This study aims to isolate bacteria from diseased silkworm and to determine its pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance. A strain of Klebsiella granulomatis has been isolated from silkworm haemolymph which was later identified on the basis of biochemical tests and 16S rRNA gene sequencin...
